Munich, January 16, 2024 – The LogiMAT 2024 trade show, set to take place from March 19–21 at the Messe Stuttgart convention center, promises to be a landmark event in the intralogistics industry. With over 1,500 exhibitors from 40 countries occupying 125,000 square meters across ten exhibit halls, this year’s theme, “SHAPING CHANGE TOGETHER – Sustainability – AI – Ergonomics,” highlights current industry trends and the spectrum of cutting-edge solutions in intralogistics.
Cutting-Edge Exhibitions and Emerging Trends: Sustainability, AI, and Ergonomics Take Center Stage
Michael Ruchty, Exhibition Director, emphasized the trade show’s focus on automation, digital transformation, energy conservation, and AI-based data analysis tools, in line with the challenges of skilled labor shortages and the need for IT network security and supply chain resilience. He noted, “Most of the world’s leading developers, manufacturers, and solution providers are exhibiting products focused on at least one of the three main themes.” This year, an impressive 35 percent of exhibitors are international, with significant participation from China, Taiwan, North America, and even an Australian company, Genie Grips.
The event is organized for efficiency, with exhibitors grouped by industry segment to minimize walking distances. Innovations in material handling technology, such as new 3D sorters, automated solutions for high throughputs, and advanced shuttle solutions for small parts storage, will be featured. Highlights include an automatic dispenser for consumables, new cobot grippers, and a novel oxygen-reduction fire prevention system using fuel cell technology.
A significant focus will be on industrial truck technology, with leading manufacturers showcasing the latest in tugger trains, low-lift pallet trucks, articulated forklifts, and next-generation assistance systems. The trend towards hydrogen and fuel cell technology, alongside lithium-ion batteries for energy storage, will be evident in the design of new industrial trucks, pointing to improved battery and energy management.
The software segment, housed in Hall 8, will display innovative solutions for warehouse, transport, and supply chain management. Exhibitors will showcase apps, IT platforms, and cloud solutions equipped with AI algorithms for efficient process control, including tools for simulations, smart data filtering, and analytics. These innovations aim to optimize warehouse performance and accelerate implementation times.
LogiMAT 2024: Advanced Software, AGVs, and Sustainable Packaging in the Spotlight
Adjacent to this, Hall 6 will feature exhibitors specializing in AGV systems and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), offering hands-on experiences with the latest equipment, including outdoor AMRs for new use cases.
Packaging and automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology will also be in the spotlight, with sustainable packaging solutions, modular packing station designs, and new filling and sealing machines for e-commerce applications presented in Hall 4. Hall 2 will serve as the hub for AIDC technology, showcasing innovations like scan-free identification solutions and wireless collision warning systems.
The accompanying program of LogiMAT 2024 includes the Mobile Robotics User Forum, offering expert consultations on AGV/AMR solutions, the Tracking & Tracing Theatre, and the Cargo Securement Event Space, among others. The LogiMAT Campus, a new feature, will provide networking opportunities for students and professionals looking to start a career in logistics.
Ruchty concluded, “The overall package of more than 1,500 exhibitors and the comprehensive accompanying program underscores once more LogiMAT’s reputation as a trade show with added value and a leading presentation, information, and communication platform in the intralogistics industry.” LogiMAT 2024 promises to be a spark for the advancement of intralogistics worldwide.
