Canadian warehouse operators will have expanded access to AutoStore automation as Kardex brings its established integration business north of the border, backed by Canadian resources and a growing partner network.

Kardex is expanding its AutoStore business into Canada, giving warehouse and distribution operators across the country another integration option for high-density automated storage and order fulfillment.
The intralogistics specialist said its Canadian AutoStore operation will be supported by dedicated resources and a growing network of partners. Kardex already supplies its proprietary automated storage systems in Canada and said the expansion builds on an existing customer-support and partner network.
The move extends an AutoStore integration business that Kardex has operated in the Americas for five years. Globally, Kardex reports more than 150 AutoStore deployments spanning retail, manufacturing, healthcare, e-commerce, third-party logistics and automotive applications.
“Canada represents an important growth opportunity for Kardex AS Solutions as we continue to expand our AutoStore business globally,” Daniel Hauser, Head of Kardex AS Solutions, said. “We have built significant AutoStore experience across markets and industries, and our focus is on bringing that expertise closer to Canadian customers.”
Building on Five Years of AutoStore Growth
AutoStore systems use robots travelling across the top of a storage grid to retrieve bins and deliver them to workstations for picking and replenishment. The dense cube-storage configuration can make the technology attractive to operations where warehouse space is expensive or additional storage and throughput are needed within an existing footprint.
Kardex said its Americas operation has completed dozens of AutoStore deployments involving thousands of robots and millions of bins. Recent North American customers cited by the company include Ford, Sonepar, Cutter & Buck and WEG.
The Canadian expansion also gives Kardex another market for several technologies it has developed around the core AutoStore system. These include its FulfillX warehouse execution system, SnapVac automated grid-cleaning technology, BinInductAI automated bin induction and the Intuitive Picking Assistant, which projects picking information directly onto an AutoStore port.
Kardex said its AutoStore deployments have increased picking throughput by as much as 300 percent and reduced required floor space by as much as 80 percent. The company has also reported picking accuracy reaching 99.9 percent in some applications. Results will vary by operation and system design.
Canadian Support Part of Expansion
Kardex said Canadian customers will receive support throughout system design, deployment and the operating life of their AutoStore installations.
The company will also draw on its French AutoStore integration team to support French-speaking Canadian customers. That group has experience designing and implementing AutoStore systems in France and will work alongside Kardex’s North American organization.
Fred Fox, President, Americas, Kardex Solutions, said the objective extends beyond selling automation equipment. “Our aim is straightforward: to serve Canadian companies well, with the resources and partner network to support them through every stage of their solution, and to build the kind of relationships that earn trust over the long term,” Fox said.
The Canadian expansion comes as distribution centres face continuing pressure to increase storage density, picking productivity and order accuracy while making better use of existing buildings. For Canadian operators evaluating goods-to-person automation, Kardex’s move adds another established AutoStore integrator with direct Canadian market support.
