Third win in five years for Bettaway Beverage Distributors highlights service reliability, tech-enabled execution, and a customer-first partnership
Bettaway Beverage Distributors has been recognized by C.H. Robinson as a 2025 Carrier of the Year, joining a select group of 20 trucking firms honored from among more than 450,000 contract carriers in the logistics provider’s network. The South Plainfield, NJ–based specialist in time-definite local and regional beverage transport said the award marks its third Carrier of the Year citation in the past five years.
“ I want to thank the C.H. Robinson team for this prestigious recognition, which is the third time in the past five years that Bettaway has earned Carrier of the Year honors,” said John Vaccaro, president of Bettaway. He emphasized the company’s partnership approach and focus on consistent performance: “It’s not our goal to be something to everyone but to develop something special and enduring with partners who appreciate us and the value our family of entities provides.”

C.H. Robinson is one of the nation’s largest transportation and logistics management companies. It manages an estimated $23 billion in freight and directs greater than 37 million shipments annually for over 100,000 shipping customers. Its Carrier of the Year program, now in its eighth year, evaluates truck lines by service type and size, recognizing carriers that deliver exceptional service quality and reliability, operational excellence, and complementary technology that drives efficiency.
“ We congratulate Bettaway along with all our 2025 honorees who exemplify the best in the industry,” said Michael Castagnetto, president of North American Surface Transportation at C.H. Robinson. He noted the breadth of strong performance across the market: “But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I also want to recognize the 360 other COYA nominees and the entirety of our 450,000+ carrier network. They help us and our customers succeed every day. We are proud to honor them for another year of exceptional achievements.”
This year’s awards were presented during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, underscoring the essential role drivers and carrier operations teams play in the North American economy. The timing resonated with Bettaway’s leadership. “We must acknowledge the truck drivers and support staff in our industry without whose dedication we would not be here today,” concluded Vaccaro. He added a note on culture and recognition: “Saying job well done costs nothing but is worth its weight in gold for a dedicated partner and pays dividends in a relationship.”
For beverage shippers, the recognition spotlights a carrier known for tight delivery windows, high service consistency, and integrated pallet and warehouse capabilities that reduce touches in crowded distribution networks. Bettaway operates dedicated fleets on both U.S. coasts and a national 3PL network, aligning trucking, pallet management, and value-added services to streamline order fulfillment for beverage and broader CPG customers.
Beyond transportation, Bettaway is active in the reusable transport packaging and pallet space—an area of continuing interest for RPN readers working to cut waste and improve supply-chain efficiency. The company delivers managed pallet services through a network of roughly 500 facilities, coordinated by centralized systems that support sourcing, recovery, repair, and redeployment. Bettaway also founded and operates PalletTrader, a collaborative e-commerce marketplace for posting, buying, selling, and delivering white wood pallets online. Those capabilities give beverage and CPG shippers options to align freight, pallet availability, and dock operations, particularly during seasonal peaks or promotional surges.
