NEDRE VATS, Norway, September 2023 — Leading technology company, AutoStore has announced that two of its employees, Ellen Brune and Synnøve Matre, have been named recipients of the 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award for their achievements in a predominantly male industry. Presented by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, this award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples are establishing a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network.
“This year, we received over 400 submissions, the highest number of applications not only for this award, but also for all of our awards. What’s more, 118 of those applications were submitted by male counterparts, nominating their boss, co-worker, or associate. Last year, that figure was just 75,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “While there’s still more work to be done, what we’re doing is working. From truck drivers to CEOs, what these winners are doing matters to the future of all supply chains.”
“AutoStore has the same challenge as the industry at large; to attract more female talent,” said Anette Matre, Chief People and Information Officer at AutoStore. “We are extremely proud to see two of our 300 female employees being awarded as leaders building a foundation for other women in the industry. Both Synnøve and Ellen are true role models and their incredible work with product development at AutoStore is outstanding and deserves attention.”
Ellen Brune, Vice President of Product Management, personifies this award in her mission to support and mentor the next generation of female STEM professionals. Synnøve Matre, Vice President of Research and Development, champions teamwork while working to foster an environment of growth and deep collaboration.
“I am truly honored to receive the Women in Supply Chain Award,” shared Synnøve Matre. “For over three decades, I have been working with technology development at AutoStore, transforming it from an idea to today’s global company delivering systems worldwide. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Ingvar Hognaland for believing in me as a young summer intern. And encouraging me through the years by helping and supporting me whenever needed. His influence in the AutoStore journey and mine is immeasurable. I am also privileged to work in an environment, first at Hatteland and now AutoStore, where diversity is valued.”
“I am deeply grateful for the honor of being recognized as a female leader in supply chain,” Ellen Brune said. “It’s a reminder that diversity is our greatest strength, and I’m proud to be part of a community that celebrates and recognizes the contributions of women in this field.”
Recipients will be honored at this year’s Women in Supply Chain Forum, set to take place November 14-15, 2023, in Atlanta. Go to https://foodl.me/fdx1zi to view the full list of winners.
